‘The leaders in this country have failed, me inclusive’ – Benue Governor Samuel Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has blasted the Nigerian government, saying politicians and therefore the political institutions have failed Nigerians.

Ortom, was speaking on Wednesday August 12, during the International Youth celebration held at new banquet hall, Makurdi.

According to Ortom, leaders including himself, have didn’t lead the country properly, adding that the fight against corruption by the central was selective.

“Let me say here that the leaders during this country have failed, me inclusive. it’s a giant shame to us leaders, we must arouse forgiveness from God. and that i implore you that you just shouldn’t take after us. Greed could be a big challenge. the trail we are toying is that the wrong one for us. there’s a challenge.

“The rule of law is selective, there are sacred cows that can’t be touched, whether or not they are doing bad things, they can’t be touched.

“People steal billions and that they are allowed to travel scot-free while people who steal chickens are jailed,” the governor added.
