The Presidency has said it is just President Buhari that can sack Service Chiefs and nobody else.
The administration made this known hours after the Senate passed a resolution asking Service Chiefs to leave or get terminated for rising uncertainty in the country, particularly the ongoing killing soldiers and mass abdication in the military.
In any case, in a short articulation gave on its twitter handle, @NGRPresident, the Presidency said just President Buhari maintains whatever authority is needed to choose or sack Service Chiefs.
“The Senate on Tuesday embraced a goal approaching the Service Chiefs to leave or be sacked due to the multi-pronged security challenges in the nation.
The Presidency notes the resolution, and reiterates that appointment or sack of Service Chiefs is a Presidential prerogative, & President Muhammadu Buhari, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, will do what is in the best interest of the country at all times.” the tweet read
