Adegbose Phase 2 Community Development Association in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Southwest, Nigeria, on Wednesday, January 16, took delivery of a new 500 KVA, 33/0.415 KV transformer.
The purchase of the new transformer cost the community the sum of N2.5milion.
The transformer was purchased from the money contributed by the residents of the community who decided to address their epileptic power challenge since intervention from the government and electric company was not forthcoming.
Chairman of the CDA, Alhaji Jinad Abdulateef, announced the delivery at 4.37p.m on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, on the community’s WhatsApp platform.
The community has also taking up the responsibility of grading its roads annually, providing security for residents and their properties and redistributing electricity among residents.Meanwhile, the community, through its executives, has appealed to the chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Sesan Daini, representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja and the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Benson to assist the community in the installation of the transformer.
A letter signed by Alhaji Jinaid, as the CTC Chairman, Mr Foluwaso Adebobuyi, Chairman, Transformer Committee and Surv. Tunde Omole, and addressed to the council and the representatives, states that:
“We write to humbly solicit for your kind assistance towards the installation of a community purchased transformer to bring relief to the people of Adegbose Estate Phase II.
“The existing transformer in the community is currently undergoing load shedding , with incessant power outage due to constant fuse drop, a consequence of overloading”.
The community stated that it has been embarking on self-help projects to provide basic amenities that government ought to have provided for its citizenry.
“In addition to the community’s self-effort in providing security, grading of access roads, redistribution of electricity load and provision of drainage, Adegbose Phase II has gone ahead to provide a 500 KVA, 33/0.415 KV transformer at the tune of N2, 500, 000 as a relief to the existing transformer.
“We humbly seek your assistance for the installation of the said transformer to actualise the dream of constant power supply to the community. We are hopeful for the kindness and support of your good office”, they appealed.
Meanwhile, the community graded the main access road that connects it to Olu-Odo and Igbo-Agbowa communities few days ago.
