The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, says he is confident of winning the elections.
Sanwo-Olu said this on Monday during an interview on ChannelsTV, where he brushed aside claims that he signed a deal to do just one term.
“I believe I can win, I know I am going to win,” he said when asked if he thinks he can win.
Furthermore, when asked if he signed any deal to do just one term, he said only Lagosians have the final say on that.
According to him, he did not sign any deal and has no plan to go beyond one term except Lagosians re-elect him.
He said, “It is four years that is on the ballot, I am not deceiving myself. It is Lagosians that will determine that for me. There is certainly no deal, it is Lagosians that I have a deal with when they elect me.
“That is for Lagosians to determine if I’ve earned it in the first four years”.
A former commissioner in the state, Sanwo-Olu was recently endorsed by former governor Babatunde Fashola, but his main rival, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party dismissed him as a mere ‘puppet’ of Bola Tinubu, national leader of the APC.
