APC Presidential Aspirants to Pay N45m, Primary set for Sep 20

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the timetable for its primaries ahead of the general elections in 2019.

The party made the announcement in a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Ibediro who stated that following approval by the party’s National Working Committee, presidential primary is scheduled to hold on September 20 while governorship primaries will be conducted on September 25.

According to the timetable, members of the party aspiring to contest for the presidency are to pay N40m and N5m for the nomination and expression of interest forms respectively.

Similarly, governorship aspirants will pay N22.5m for the forms while the those vying for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly seats are to purchase the forms for N7m, N3.85m, and N850,000 respectively.

The APC said all payments should be made in full directly into its designated bank accounts, before the sale of forms which will be followed by the APC Nationwide Congresses to elect delegates for other primaries.

However, the presidential primary will be decided by the direct system as adopted at the party’s NEC meeting.

The party added that all forms are to be collected and submitted on or before Wednesday 12th September, 2018.
